Dean Middhat’s Top 3 Caged Steel Highlights
“Hello, Dean here! The event delivered MMA at the highest level both in amateur and professional level. As to be expected from the top MMA show in the north of the U.K. But what we didn’t expect was the warrior spirit that exceed expectations! A show of fighter spirit that will forever be remembered was the fight between Aron Kevinsson and Ryan Shaw. In dramatic warrior fashion to go out swinging or on his shield, Aron took the fight on 2 hours notice only being at the show and in the U.K. to corner his country men who were fighting. He not only saved this fight but delivered a performance worthy of a hall of famer in the amateur ranks! He fought hard despite no training camp and made everyone respect his skill set to the level even in defeat!
Secondly Adam Bramhald after and outing on Dana Whites contender series came back to Doncaster to defend his Bantamweight belt against a top 15 ranked Brazilian fighter who travelled 6000 miles to get here. All was going well until tragedy struck him in the first round, an unfortunate by product of his raw power in his lead hand caused him to break it on the face of the Brazilian who didn’t seem phased at all and in turn forced Adam to utilise his secondary weapons to try take out the target in an epic battle reminiscent of an injured Maximus Decimus Meridius going out to face Commodus while compromised still makes the walk with bravery and honour. We see Ex British Tae Kwon Do (TKD) squad member Mason Yarrow in his toughest test yet against the feared and talented Icelandic fighter Jhoan Salinas who is known for causing upsets in the Orange cage face off for the amateur Lightweight Title, the age old question can the grappler take out the elite striker or will the tables turn to shock the whole of the Doncaster Dome! Before we finish we can’t leave out the knock out king Aron Leó who took on the tough U.K. veteran Jonny Brocklesby who was much more experienced than Leo. The pressure was on Jonny to close the distance and set up his signature single leg. Leo showed his next level skill set to go head to head with I’d of the toughest and hardest to finish veterans of our sport! In what Jonny promised to be his last fight as a pro and he would go out with bang it truly was two heavy hitters going shot for shot in game of power and pressure to hunt for the finish.
