Hurst Vs Holt Bantam Battle In Sheffield

In the bantamweight division, Ian Hurst will be returning for the first time since he defeated Ben Fahey at Caged Steel 15 back in 2016. This will be Hurst’s second appearance on Caged Steel and will be fighting out of the mighty Sheffield Shoot fighters Mixed Martial Arts Club. He currently holds a positive 3-2 fight record. Coming off a win in April, he’ll feel even more confident in a win over his opponent Jack Holt.

Ian was recently interviewed by Caged Steel promoter, Dominic Gibbs. He’s shared his excited thoughts on the fight ahead. Ian has been out of competing for a while due to personal reasons and work commitments. However, he is back, confident and raring to go. Training has been going great for him, he is always tested at Sheffield Shoot Fighters, and coach Sam Boult (CS23 Main Event) has been pushing him to his limits in all areas. Find out more in the interview below.

Holt hails from AVT MMA Leeds and will be making his 6th appearance within our cage. He’s been victorious on three of the five past appearances, all of which were tough 50/50 matched bouts. He fell short on his last battle against Kai Holmes but looks to bounce back in Sheffield’s Fly DSA Arena.

Jack currently holds a 4-3 fight record and is known for his submission finishes, having ended most of his fights in this style. It will be great to have him back in this testing bantamweight bout, especially with Hurst equally showing a liking to finishing his bouts with a submission. Apart from a couple of fights more in experience from Holt, this is a fairly well matched bout. Both athletes show they have what it takes to win, but also show flaws in their game. It’ll be exciting matchup, anything can happen!
