Haider Khan, known as ‘Darth’ Haider Khan, is a well-respected figure in the MMA world, especially within his home community of Oldham, Greater Manchester. From an early age, Haider displayed a deep passion for sport, playing rugby at a semi-professional level. However, it was not until he was 18 that he discovered his true calling in martial arts. Inspired by watching fights with his uncles, Haider realised that MMA was where his heart truly lay.

Driven by a dream to become the first British Pakistani global MMA champion, Haider has devoted himself to rigorous training and the pursuit of excellence in the sport. Normally fighting at middleweight, Haider has chosen to step up to the super middleweight division for his upcoming fight. This decision is part of what drew him to Caged Steel, as we were the first UK promotion to introduce additional weight classes to offer fighters new opportunities.

Haider’s path has been guided not just by his athletic ambition but by a deep and unwavering faith. As a devout Muslim, he incorporates his religious beliefs into his training mentality, approaching each session with discipline, gratitude, and devotion. His faith fuels his resilience and commitment, helping him push through challenges and keep focus. Haider’s mission extends beyond personal success; he wants to inspire others, showing that with dedication and faith, anything is possible. Through his victories, Haider looks to uplift others, supporting not only their physical well-being but also their mental health.

Already an inspiration to many, Haider is dedicated to nurturing the next generation. He actively teaches children, equipping them with valuable self-defence skills and lessons that foster confidence and discipline. His community—both in Oldham and the broader British Pakistani sphere—holds him in high regard, looking up to him as a role model.

“I owe so much to my British Pakistani community,” Haider shares. “Their support has been incredible, and I want to show the rest of the UK what we can achieve when we dream big and work hard.” Haider’s goal is to bring greater unity and pride to his community, proving that achievements on the global stage are within reach.

Since beginning his martial arts career at 18, Haider has built an impressive record. Now competing professionally, he holds an 8-1 fight record and is currently riding a four-fight win streak. Haider is ranked 6th in the UK out of 96 athletes in his weight class, and he stands as the 75th pound-for-pound fighter out of 3,903 in the UK. In Europe, Haider is ranked 88th out of 882 middleweight athletes. 258 in the world according to FightMatrix – an impressive achievement that highlights his skill and potential.

Excitement is building for Haider’s upcoming fight at Caged Steel on December 7th at the Doncaster Dome. This will be his first title fight at super middleweight, and he’s set to face a tough and resilient opponent in Rhino Daley. Despite the challenge, Haider’s humility, dedication, and infectious personality make him a fan favourite. His training network in Liverpool and Manchester is extensive, and he benefits from the support of many coaches and training partners who push him to excel.

Haider Khan’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and pride. His journey from watching MMA as a teenager to stepping into the cage as a professional fighter with a vision to inspire others is proof that dreams can be turned into reality with enough dedication.
